Thesis type: 60 credits
Project start: January 2024
Student location: On Site, Gothenburg Sweden

Translation of CRISPR-Cas9 technologies into therapies requires sensitive detection of unintended mutations across the genome. Developing state-of-the-art NGS-based methods to discover CRISPR off-targets genome-wide is of high priority for developing safe editing programs at Discovery Sciences.

To help us in this challenge, we are looking for a highly motivated and engaged Master student to join our collaborative Disease Molecular Profiling team - NGS/Transcriptomics Function at AstraZeneca, in Gothenburg. You will be part of a dynamic team working on transformative NGS platforms to enable acceleration and innovation of our R&D pipeline.

To this end, you will be actively involved in the establishment and evaluation of customized NGS workflows, as well as in the enhancement and troubleshooting of existing ones. An important part of your work will include data interpretation in collaboration with our team of computational biologists and effective communication of progress and milestones to stakeholders.

You will be expected to work collaboratively within a multient, sharing insights and contributing to the discussion of the team’s projects. Keeping up to date with relevant scientific literature and technological advancements in the CRISPR field will be part of your tasks.
