We now offer an exciting opportunity to perform a thesis project, 30 hp, in collaboration with Manufacturing Science & Technology at our new biologics Drug Product manufacturing plant located in Södertälje.
The new manufacturing facility has the capability of formulation, filling, visual inspection, device assembly packaging to support the Astra Zeneca biologic commercial pipeline and biologic clinical trial and launch programs.

Business Area
Manufacturing Science & Technology (MS&T) is the bridge that turns innovative science into actual medicines that help millions of people. The MS&T function ensures reliable and flexible formulation, filling, visual inspection, device assembly, bulk and final packaging of late stage clinical and commercial products, for the site to become the preferred supplier for these products. We also provide expert technical support commercial products.

What you’ll do
Manufacturing Science & Technology are responsible for process development, monitoring and continuous improvement of our manufacturing processes. We are constantly striving to improve process understanding and the analytical tools available for process monitoring.
In this project, you will identify opportunities for increased understanding of formulation, filling, aseptic processing and/or assembly and packing processes through modeling, trending and statistical analysis. The project will utilize existing process data. 

Essential Requirement
- In final year of MSc (or equivalent) in Engineering or life sciences
- Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English
- Ability to work independently and define project deliverables in collaboration with project mentors

Desired Requirement
- Experience with data-driven modeling tools such as SIMCA Online
