TMHE is looking for a specialist category manager/buyer for freight and transport, with strategic responsibility across Europe.
As a category manager, you will manage a high level of autonomy in the business relations with assigned internal customers. Besides that, you will manage a high level of autonomy in the defined projects for business development and cooperate with all levels of the European organisation (SVP as well), all regions and all central functions. The work arena is wide, complex, and challenging.
Core responsibilities
You will have full responsibility over assigned purchasing category group, with your main objectives to achieve agreed cost reduction, quality objectives and support the business. You will also work to define European purchasing strategies for assigned categories, negotiate & maintain contracts and all relevant documentation, and cooperate with all legal entities to help them with roll-out and implementation of central agreements.
You will also:
* Go to the supply market with Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Quotations (RFQ), evaluating cost of ownership as well as other relevant criteria.
* Establish sustainable partnerships, matching corporate requirements and stakeholders' needs.
* Draw up a centralised EU carrier portfolio.
* Embrace future transportation vision and support activities towards the maturity growth of the EU transportation network.
* Support local and central negotiation with the 3PL providers of the transhipment hubs.
* Support local entities through the T&C harmonisation process in line with its principles and requirements.
* Support the SAP Carrier EDI onboarding process.
Your profile
You are structured, autonomous, and strong at problem solving. You possess skills in project and contract management, an ability to analyse the market and products and propose improvements. You are fluent in English and willing to travel throughout Europe.
We believe you also possess the skills to perform the following tasks:
* Drafting of strategic plan outlining how to perform negotiation; Creating RFQs with full cost lifecycle in mind.
* Building specifications, pricing, SLA.
* Skills in developing and reviewing agreements, negotiating ideal terms & conditions.
* Ability to drive suppliers' performance, control compliance.
* Understanding of- and managing contract lifecycles.
* Leadership skills to drive complex procurement initiatives.
* More than 10 years' purchasing experience in different companies and roles.
* Very good knowledge of the transportation sector.
