Tool Designer Catia - Assembly Shop Volvo Cars Torslanda (VCT)

The group Facilities, Tooling & Equipment Trim & Final VCT is responsible for all process equipment implementation for new car projects and running production in the Assembly shop. Our vision is flawless launches in all projects and optimal prerequisites for Production and Maintenance in running production at a competitive cost. The group consists of 20 persons and we are working closely with a sister group of 15 persons. Together we are responsible for RFQ, planning, responsible for the implementation, installation and commissioning of process related equipment in our plants in all project phases and for running production.
As Tool Designer your deliveries is investigations/pre studies, cost calculations and installations for all type of equipment from small hand tools to complete robot lines. You will produce tool and fixture design in Catia V5 for car projects in assembly shop as well as method development with the tooling design team supporting the virtual tool development process. You will work with process equipment procurement and implementation as a participant in or leader of a project team. You will be responsible for planning, technique and cost related to the complete project or part of a project. You will also contribute to the development of standards, concepts and work processes. The job is a mix of theory and practice that challenges your technical skills as well as your ability to keep track on all ongoing tasks, work according to tough timetables and cross-functional cooperation. You will build a big network internally as well as externally and work under great freedom and mandate within the company policies and project scope.
Main responsibilities
* Tool design with input from the Equipment Card system
* Updating Bill Of Equipment, storing virtual models in Teamcenter, with all new tools and equipment
* Participate in development of the virtual methods and way of working
* Deliver on time technic and cost
* Following decided processes and applicable instructions in the Business Management System (BMS)
* Participate in cross functional enterprises within Volvo Cars
* Support in early project phases with specialist competences
Required qualifications
* University degree in engineering or equivalent
* Highly skilled in Catia V5
* Experience of using Teamcenter
* Fluent in English, oral and written. Additional languages are positive
* Experience from tool design is a bonus
