Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a Tooling and Development Manager to join our passionate team in Skellefteå.
In joining us you will play an important part in Building, Commissioning and Starting one of the first large scale European battery factories. Northvolt will play an important role in the transformation to a carbon free society.
The Tooling and development manager is responsible for overseeing the creation of new knives , moulds, cutting tools and dies and other specialized equipment used in the manufacture of Lithium Ion batteries.To Lead central maintenance and engineering activities and to provide site wide support to tackle complex issues.
Key Responsibilites
Coordinate new and existing product developments from concept to production , ensuring timely completion of projects
Coordinate and be responsible for the execution of maintenance of Tooling and all engineering processes.
Ensure a safe and fun working environment and culture.
Visit existing and potential customers to assist with design and application support.
Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing tooling and processes.
Implementation of best Engineering and maintenance practices.
Generation and implementation of cost saving activities.
Provide expert level tooling support to all Northvolt sites.
Prepare Capex and Opex budgetary submission for 1 – 5 year plan.
Prepare Manning plan to align with production ramp up
Deliver the department objectives in a timely manner.
Provide leadership and mentoring to the team &provide feedback on performance
Work closely with other members of Program , blue print and other management teams to help deliver gigafactories.
Qualifications/education/experience
Bachelor Degree or min 10 years experience in related engineering fields
Tooling , Jig and fixturing expert
Expert understanding and knowledge of cell manufacturing processes.
Fluency in English
Excellent computer literacy
Expert understanding and knowledge of cell manufacturing processes.

Excellent computer literacy
Expert level understanding and knowledge of high speed complex CNC machines.
Valuable (but not required) if fluency in other languages, including Swedish
Specific skills:
Good technical knowledge about mechanical, automation, chemicals, hydraulics and pneumatic systems.
Good working knowledge of engineering component and assembly drawings
Working with continuous improvements in industrial environment.
Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
