Introduction

The UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) is part of the Department for International Trade, which is a ministerial Government department. UKTI is fundamental in supporting the Governments agenda to grow the UK economy.

The UKTI team in Stockholm is currently looking to recruit a Trade Adviser to support commercially vital campaigns and activities collaborating with Embassy colleagues and other Government departments. It also includes identifying market opportunities and assisting UK companies interested in Sweden and the Nordic/Baltic markets.

Main Duties / Responsibilities
. Support delivery of high value Swedish and Nordic/Baltic trade campaigns across various sectors.
. Identify leads and opportunities for British business and deliver a range of UKTI Market Entry Services to support the delivery of UKTI country targets.
. Support the production of analytical reports, briefs and other governmental communication.
. Maintain and develop administration and routine tasks of a commercial department.
. Contribute to the wider UKTI and Embassy team in Sweden.
. Support in organising and participating at trade events/shows.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:
. University degree, Business/Economics or applicable subject
. A self-starter, with the ability to organise self and work effectively
. Ability to work effectively and supportively on shared objectives with colleagues
. Networking skills
. Understand and focus on customer needs
. Good communication skills in both English and Swedish

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
. 2/3 years of relevant work experience
. Business supply chain knowledge
. Some Swedish sector knowledge would be an advantage eg Defence & Security, Chemicals, Consumer & Retail and Financial Services.
. Good IT skills
. Flexibility to travel domestically and to the UK

Terms and Conditions
This is a full-time, permanent position. The working hours are 40 hours per week.

Please note that being a Locally Employed staff by the British Embassy will not give access to be registered with the Swedish population registry. According to the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs the locally employed staff should be either Swedish citizens or permanent residents, i.e. registered with the population registry before starting the employment.
