UK Trade & Investment is the UK government organisation that helps UK-based companies to succeed in the global economy.We also help international companies bring their high-quality investment to the UK's dynamic economy - acknowledged as Europe's best place from which to succeed in global business.We employ over 2000 staff across our international network and in Sweden we operate with 12 members of staff based at the British Embassy in Stockholm.
The Job
We are looking for an additional Trade Adviser to our office in Stockholm.This is a temporary position to cover for staff on parental leave with a starting date preferably around mid May to early June 2010.
Our Trade Advisers work with trade organisations, government agencies and other to identify areas of interest for UK business, to raise the profile of Sweden as an attractive export destination and not least to meet the needs of individual UK export firms.An important share of the work is to assist individual companies with market research and identification of opportunities, partners, distributors and clients.
UK Trade & Investment assists UK companies through our chargeable OMIS offering (Overseas Market Introduction Service), which is subsidised by the British Government.OMIS is a flexible service, which can be tailor-made to suit the requirements of the individual company.This can take the form of market research, identifying & introducing local business partners, arranging events and setting up meetings on behalf of the UK Company.UK Trade & Investment Sweden works closely with colleagues across the Nordic.

Profile
We are looking for a team player with an academic background and/or relevant experience in Business Development or Sales.Knowledge about how the UK and Swedish markets complement each other as well as some industry experience, preferably from a technology sector is an advantage.You are a fast starter, have a positive attitude and a strong customer focus with a sales and service minded approach.Experience from similar assignments would be of merit.
Excellent communication skills in both English and Swedish are required.
