The team The Intra-Europe and Africa team are commercially responsible for the Nordic, Baltic & Russia's shipments in the north-south directions with the main corridor being southbound to Mediterranean.We foresee increased volumes on the Intra-Europe trade and are looking for an energetic and driven individual to join the department and develop the trade further. You will be a part of a motivated and dynamic team where you need to be able to handle changes in your own role as well as in the business.There are excellent learning and development opportunities being involved in this exciting commercial environment.The position As Trade Analyst you will be responsible for the daily running of the trade in NBR and the execution of both Centre and Area strategies in pursuit of optimising Maersk Line's pre-eminent position on this trade in the area.On a day-to-day basis this will likely include the following tasks and practices: .Weekly country follow up; pro-active management & direction of area Sales; country & customer visits .Identification and leadership of sales drives etc.to meet performance targets .Promotion of rate recovery & increase programmes .Tender pricing, coordination & follow-up .Benchmarking with other areas .Management of conflicts with Maersk Logistics, direct sales, forwarders etc..Space coordination & management; follow-up on allocations & issues relating to feeder space & inland network .In overflow situations, selection of rolled cargo ensuring minimum impact on Area's commercial interests .Maintenance of live country & cluster business plans .Competition analysis .Key Client follow-up and assistance .Intranet updates & maintenance .Input & coordination for annual budget process .Trade reporting requirements: freightlist, monthly report, weekly bookings etc..Monthly Foresight curtailment exercises .Ensuring regulatory requirements are adhered to at all times .Ad hoc projects as & when required by the business . The candidate We are looking for someone with the right mix of the below attributes & skills: .Language skills: fluent English mandatory, proficiency in any of the Scandinavian, Baltic languages or Russian a plus .Good communication & presentation skills .International outlook; interest in shipping industry & world trade .Commercial insight .Ambition, drive and ability to learn fast .Analytical skills .Self confidence & capacity to operate under pressure with tight / multiple deadlines .Team player .Excellent skills in MS Office products .Ability to build relationships across departments and Areas .Focus on quality Please apply by registering your application on our website, www.maersk.com, as soon as possible but no later than September 11, 2007.
