The team The Americas trade team covers the Nordic, Baltic & Russia¡ås business to North and South America with important and significant volumes both export and import. With increased operational & commercial challenges and opportunities ahead, we are looking for an energetic and driven individual to join the department and develop the trade further. You will be a part of a motivated and dynamic team with colleagues from many different professional and geographic backgrounds.There are excellent learning and development opportunities being involved in this exciting commercial environment.The position As Trade Analyst you will be responsible for the daily running of the trade in NBR and the execution of both Centre and Area strategies in pursuit of optimising Maersk Line¡ås pre-eminent position on this trade in the area.On a day-to-day basis this will likely include the following tasks and practices: - Weekly country follow up; pro-active management & direction of area Sales; country & customer visits - Promotion of rate recovery & increase programmes - Tender pricing, coordination & follow-up - Benchmarking with other areas - Management of rate/allocation discussions with direct sales, forwarders etc.- Space coordination & management; follow-up on allocations & issues relating to feeder space & inland network - Maintenance of live country & cluster business plans - Competition analysis - Key Client follow-up and assistance - Intranet updates & maintenance - Pricing management in MARS - Input & coordination for annual budget process - Trade reporting requirements: freightlist, monthly report, weekly bookings etc.- Monthly Foresight curtailment exercises - Ad hoc projects as & when required by the business - Ensure the Area is aware of all trade regulatory updates The candidate We are looking for someone with the right mix of the below attributes & skills: - Language skills: fluent English mandatory, proficiency in any of the Scandinavian, Baltic languages or Russian a plus - Good communication & presentation skills - International outlook; interest in shipping industry & world trade - Commercial insight - Analytical skills - Self confidence & capacity to operate under pressure with tight / multiple deadlines - Team player - Skills in MS Office products - Ability to build relationships across departments and Areas Please apply by registering your application on our website, www.maersk.com as soon as possible but no later than September 11, 2007.
