The mission of the Trade Compliance Officer (TCO) is to support the business management in ensuring that all business processes are aligned with ABB trade policies and guidelines, as well as to provide the business staff with hands-on guidance in complying with trade related requirements and in pursuing strategic trade objectives. TCO functions as single point of contact for trade related matters towards our warehouses and relevant authorities. The responsibility covers both daily trade operations as well as development and implementation of trade related initiatives supporting the business.
ABB is currently working to implement a world class Trade Compliance organization and many interesting initiatives are now being implemented to improve the work related to this area. This is an interesting role where structured approach and quality-centric mindset are needed. This role will mainly support the local Robotics business areas but will report directly to the Country Trade Compliance Manager.
Your responsibilities
• Provide the business managers and other staff periodic updates regarding sanctions and export control laws/regulations
• Inform and educate the business regarding existing written procedures and guidelines for export control compliance requirements
• Regular update of information on the local intranet pages
• Review, analyze and act on order blocks related to export control and sanctions in Trade system used by ABB (SAP GTS)
• Participate in tests in the SAP GTS system when required
• Efficient Master Data handling in SAP and SAP GTS together with the Master Data responsible regarding Export Control and Sanctions
• Perform Critical Assessment of export businesses in terms of product, country, customer, end-user and end-use restrictions, if possible already before quotation, but always before delivery
• Initiate the application to the appropriate government agencies for any required export control licenses/authorizations
• Ensure that trade compliance records are maintained for a period that satisfies legal requirements
• Execution of trade reviews/audits and/or conduct “self-audits” of trade compliance
• Collaborate with the Product Classification Engineer (PCE) regarding export control classification of parts and products
• Ensure that trade compliance targets are achieved
• Be part of the ABB trade compliance community

Your background
• Master’s degree or equivalent experience is preferable
• Good understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes, risk management and logistics
• Knowledge of export controls & sanctions is preferable, but also knowledge of customs rules and regulations are highly relevant
• Ability and willingness to learn
• Manage assignments with limited direct supervision
• Sufficient seniority to effectively communicate across all levels of the business
• Business mindset, responsiveness, strong sense of ownership, sense of details, self-drive personality and willingness to explore
• Team player with good communication skills, capable of communicating in English and Swedish, both verbally and in writing
• If you are a Certified Export Control Manager it is an advantage, but it is not a requirement
• Helpful, not mandatory: technical knowledge of Robotics products/software (willingness to learn)
• Helpful, not mandatory: Office 365 and SAP/SAP GTS knowledge
