Trademark Attorney

The overall objective of the intellectual property activities is to take care of the intellectual property of the Sandvik Group. We develop our own intellectual property together with inventors and creators within the Sandvik Group; meaning patents, designs, copyrights and trademarks. We are now looking for a Trademark Attorney to be located in Sandviken or Västberga, Stockholm. Job Summary
As Trademark Attorney you are responsible for achieving higher margins by protecting, defending and enforcing all trademarks and copyrights of the Sandvik Group. You are the link to the brand manager and other appointed contact persons at the business/product area or Group function and provide support on all issues relating to trademark, copyright and domain name matters. Ensuring clearance of new trademarks, trade names and domain names, pre-publication review of promotional material and preparing trademark applications are all part of your job. You handle office actions, oppositions and cancellation actions, as well as other contested proceedings. Furthermore, you work with coordination of raids against counterfeiters and you offer strategic legal advice to different stakeholders within Sandvik Group, including risk assessment and development of strategies.

Your profile
We are looking for someone with a Master of Law in combination with extensive knowledge acquired through relevant working experience. You have solid experience from trademark work in IP firms or IP departments within our industry or similar ones. Excellent knowledge and understanding of the legal trademark and copyright process, including domain names, are important in this role, as is excellent knowledge of opposition and cancellation proceedings in several jurisdictions. You also have good knowledge of anti-counterfeit work and of drafting different types of agreements: e.g., license, co-existence agreements and prior right agreements. In addition, you are knowledgeable in design/patent design, preferably also some experience in enforcement of such rights. Knowledge of and the ability to use the IT system Ipendo Platform are advantageous and, as we act in a global environment, your English skills are great, both in writing and verbally.
