Job Description
Trainee - Automation engineer with focus on ABB´s DCS platform 800xA. We seek 5 or more new talents eager to become skilled automation engineers within DCS programming
The position is a trainee position for 9 months starting end September 2022 and finishing end June 2023. After the trainee period is finished the position will be transferred to an ordinary employment as “Automation engineer” at one of AFRY´s highly skilled automations sections in Denmark or Sweden. Possible locations are Karlstad, Gothenburg, Varberg, Malmö, Copenhagen or Kalundborg.
The trainee period will focus on learning the platform ABB 800xA and getting acquainted with various industry segment applications eg. pharmaceuticals, water & wastewater and process industry. The trainee period will include basic training on the platform. After completed basic training the trainees will do 3 sessions of internship. These sessions will be held at offices in Denmark and Sweden. Each session has a duration of approximately 10 weeks.
Qualifications
We are looking for persons with a solid technical education eg. B.Sc in electrical engineering, automation or chemistry and an interest to work with programming of large and complex automation systems.
We believe you are at the beginning of your engineering career and now look forward to developing and using your theoretical training practically!
Excellent skills in English as well as one Scandinavian language is required. Driver´s license is also required.
The projects typically include phases with on-site work at the customer’s site. These phases often include some long working days and periods of being away from home for one or several weeks. Hence, we look for candidates who find this challenging and fun.

The employment start date is September 19:th.
Possible location for the employment is Karlstad, Gothenburg, Varberg, Malmö, Copenhagen and Kalundborg.
The ambition is that the trainee group will include persons from both Denmark and Sweden and from several of the offices mentioned above.
During the internship period the candidates will work at three different AFRY offices. The most probable locations are Karlstad, Gothenburg, Varberg, Malmö, Copenhagen and Kalundborg.
The candidates will receive ordinary payment during the trainee period.
AFRY will also reimburse travel expenses for all travel to training classes and internship work during the trainee period. This also includes trips to home every 2:nd week.
AFRY will also pay daily allowance and travel time compensation.
The basic training in ABB 800xA systems will be held in Västerås (Sweden) in week 39, 40, 41 and 43. The training will be held in English and/or Swedish depend on the groups wishes.
