Job Description
The department Strategy & Transactions within BU Onshore is now looking for a dedicated Transaction Manager for Vattenfall’s rapidly growing Wind business
Business Area Wind is responsible for Vattenfall’s Onshore and Offshore Wind as well as other non-hydro Renewable activities like PV/Solar. Today we develop, construct and operate wind generation in Sweden, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands and the UK. In addition, we have a clear strategy to develop our Solar operations further. Given Vattenfall’s growth ambitions our Strategy & Transactions department in Onshore Wind is now looking for an additional team member to support this growth.
The Strategy & Transactions department enables successful development of the onshore wind projects by being responsible for preparing and executing on transaction processes together with the project development team and group M&A. The department also plays a key role in the development of the portfolio by steering and boosting the pipeline through acquisitions, partnerships and by supporting country specific units with setting long-term plans. As the team is close to the market and possesses deep market know-how, the department also drives or supports cross department strategy initiatives.
Your responsibilities as a Transaction Manager
We offer an exciting and varied position within Vattenfall’s Wind business - a large renewable energy developer in Europe offering excellent career opportunities. The position is a combination of transaction management and business development where you will work in an international team, closely with departments like Project Development, M&A and Markets and with regular exposure to top management within Vattenfall. The role gives you a chance to be an integral part in creating the new energy landscape and to gain knowledge of the wind industry.
The role includes:
Lead transactions on both buy and sell side to enable further growth and commercialization of onshore wind projects including management of due diligences and negotiation of commercial terms and conditions
Lead and support in building-up market intelligence to derive external value of projects and portfolios
Support the development and realization of Vattenfall’s long term asset portfolio for onshore wind Develop Cooperation Agreements and/or Joint Development Agreements
Develop and implement commercial tools (i.e. financial participation by third parties – either corporates such as insurance companies and pension funds, and private participation; crowd funding; etc.)
Drive/support BU Onshore on general strategy initiatives and country departments on setting country strategies and roadmap
Lead or support work to secure project PPA:s in markets where applicable
Create business opportunities by identifying and leading external partnership initiatives together with other departments in Vattenfall
Conduct market analysis and lead or support strategic initiatives
Qualifications
Your profile as a Transaction Manager
5+ years of work experience, typically within management consulting, M&A or as a business developer in a line organization
Experience from the wind energy or renewable energy sector
Experience from leading multi-interface projects in an international environment
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to function well in a team environment
Fluent in Swedish and English both written and oral
Experience and developed skills within negotiations is an advantage
Academic degree – in either Finance or Engineering or relevant field
You will report to Director of Strategy & Transactions within BA Wind’s Onshore Business Unit.
