Then the job as a Transport Developer is a job for you! Now there is an opportunity to join the Transport Flow Optimization (TFO) & Footprint Design team within the Operations Excellence organization of Service Market Logistics (SML).
This international team is one piece of the puzzle that makes sure that the Volvo Group can deliver world class uptime to our customers. We accomplish this by designing cost efficient and sustainable transport flows for spare part distribution, meeting our customer’s requirements. Our team is stepping into an exciting phase with further development and will strengthen the focus on continuous improvements in our way of working with flow optimization and driving change.
Your responsibilities
Your day-to-day responsibilities include being involved in and supporting the logistics sourcing process by setting requirements, collecting and preparing data and assisting the purchasing organization in analyzing offers. As a part of the preparation phase of each sourcing, the responsibility of the team is to analyze transport data and identify improvement opportunities that can be included into the sourcing and further explored along the sourcing process. After each sourcing project our team is responsible for implementing the awarded transport company, and to secure a smooth transition to the new setup for each flow.
Additional responsibilities in the role as a transport developer are:
Develop supply chain visualization tools and processes to proactively identify optimization possibilities
Participate in and lead cross-functional supply chain forums
Drive continuous improvements
Collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders to understand the Volvo Group’s customer requirements upon our parts distribution supply chain
To be a subject matter expert in the area of service market transport networks
Who are you?
We are looking for a person who can work independently in driving and solving complex tasks. You have a strong drive for improving internal processes to continually develop and improve our daily work. You enjoy working with large sets of data to identify and evaluate potential improvements.
To be successful in your role you need to have excellent networking skills and feel comfortable working closely with many different stakeholders, both within a wide scope of the SML organization and also the Production Logistics organization and the Business Areas within Volvo Group.
Qualifications
Knowledge and experience in transport & logistics
Bachelor degree + preferably Master degree in relevant field
Excellent ability to analyze, interpret, and communicate data & information in a clear and concise way to stakeholders at all levels
Experience with data visualization and associated tools (e.g., Power BI, Qlikview/Qliksense, Python)
Ability to drive continuous improvement/Lean in an office worker environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Other languages are a valuable asset
The position will require occasional travelling and is located in Gothenburg.
