The transport industry and the society at large are undergoing major changes. Urbanization, climate change and digitalisation are examples of current trends that create both challenges and opportunities for the sustainable and efficient transport systems of the future. By understanding and profiting from opportunities in this development, Scania wants to strengthen its position in sustainable transport.
External collaborations and new partnerships with stakeholders in the transport ecosystems is critical for Scania in developing system solutions and to remain the leading solution provider in transport and mobility in the future
The Innovation Office at Scania develops new innovations and business opportunities for Scania beyond the company's current business. The work is mostly conducted in project form and ranges from trend and scenario analysis and systems research to exploratory design and business building.
Your Tasks
As the Transport Ecosystem Research Manager for the hub-to-hub transport ecosystem, you will have the following task.
• Act as the contact between external open innovation and research platforms and internal stakeholders
• Participate in external open innovation and research platforms like CLOSER, ITRL (at KTH), ERTRAC, ALICE related to the hub-2-hub ecosystem
• Prepare and initiate new collaborative projects internally and take them to decision
• Manage portfolio of projects for hub2hub ecosystem domain
• Take part in future oriented research projects including scenario work
• Facilitate creation of research insights and results in the line organisation at Scania
• Together with the group find new opportunity areas and transfer to the organisation
• Take part in lobbying for scaling up of system solutions
• Continuously improve the understanding of Scania's potantial role(s) in the future transport ecosystem
The work normally takes place at Scania R&D in Södertälje, at our innovation lab in Stockholm city or out in the field. Due to Covid-19, however, the work is currently conducted online.

• You have good knowledge about the transport and logistics system and its challenges
• You have a business, future, and system thinking mindset
• You are driven by great curiosity for understanding the societal needs and future business models within the ecosystem
• You have a broad external network within industry, academy, and authorities
• You have high social skills and like to communicate. You are easy to collaborate with and enjoy proactively building networks to support your and your team's mission. You take initiative, plan, operate, and deliver independently within your area of responsibility.
