About the position
The job as a Transport Manager includes:
- Being responsible for inbound and outbound transports for Thule Group within region EROW as well as purchasing & contract negotiation while ensuring RFQ’s are completed to obtain the wished for service levels and the right price.
- Supporting the transport administration team in Poland while applying pressure to forwarders to solve issues as and when they arise including working with forwarders to put actions in place and when needed manage escalation of forwarder issues.
- Responsible for ensuring that Thule Group forwarders and supply chain manage the increased share of Business-To-Consumer sales
- Drive continuous improvements by analysing current ways of working to identify improvement opportunities and potential synergies within the distribution network with the aim of reducing lead time, cost and climate impact.
- Drive sustainability initiatives within transportation (increase efficiency by reducing distances, optimizing packaging and maximizing capacity utilization, reduce transportation by air and replace road freight with rails shipment)
- Consolidate global spend and set tracking metrics for performance management.
- Drive digitalisation & visualization of transports, costs and CO2-emissions related to transports.
- Participate and support in projects, representing the transportation part of the supply chain .
- Explore and drive implementation of automated systems to handle transport related processes within Thule Group.
- Attend and drive quarterly forwarder meetings to monitor performance, ongoing actions and strategy.
About the candidate
We trust you have experience from a similar role or from an operational role at a larger forwarder and it would be advantageous if you had experience of working with transport for a FMCG company. We believe you have worked in an international environment, operationally in more than one function and preferably with experience from customs procedures and regulations.
To do this with success you need a driving personality with ability to challenge yourself and others around you, to be highly motivated and results-driven as well as being a strong negotiator. We require excellent communication skills in English and a problem solving, decision-making mindset.
