Trading & Overseas Sweden is part of the Transport Operations Europe organization within Production Logistics, GTO. We are a team of logistics professionals making sure that production material reaches Volvo plants at overseas destinations in all continents. We collaborate intense with LSP’s and Volvo colleagues on a global scale. We are on a digitalization journey and benefit more and more from the connected supply chain.


THIS IS WHAT YOU WILL DO


In the role as Transport Material Responsible at Trading & Overseas Sweden you are the link between carriers, cross dock terminal and final receivers. You secure the delivery of goods to correct location at the correct time and are the central point of contact. Further you are well organized, pay attention to details and have an action-oriented mindset. Contribution is made through daily operational tasks as well as through continuous improvement activities that generate value for the Volvo Group. Example of main activities:
Secure and book capacity on ocean vessels or road trailers
Issue and/or manage transport documents
Update systems with relevant data
Interact and collaborate with the LSP managing the cross dock terminal and other stakeholders
Identify and act on deviations in the material supply
Analyze, mitigate and inform receivers of disruptions in the material supply
Organize express transport when applicable
Act as a central point of contact to handle all operational issues, reported deviations and receiver requests
Host and/or participate in operational performance follow up meetings with goods receivers
Represent the department in operational meetings and critical carrier meetings when applicable
Identify and take actions to eliminate waste in our processes (continuous improvement)



YOUR PROFILE
Highly literate in Office 365 and MS Excel
Have deep sea shipping and/or forwarding experience
Experience in transport document administration
Pay attention to details
Knowledge in Volvo Production System and/or lean principles
Like to collaborate with others
Good communication skills, written and verbal
Take initiative and have a proactive mindset
Fluent in Swedish and English language, written and spoken
Data analytics competence and general digitalization interest is seen as advantage

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
BSc in Logistics, Engineering or Economics; or
Advanced Vocational Education (in Swedish, Kvalificerad Yrkesutbildning) in the area of Logistics
