Vestas Northern and Central Europe is a sales business unit covering Scandinavia, UK, Ireland, Poland, the Baltics, Germany, Benelux and Eastern Europe as well as southern and eastern part of Africa. We are responsible for the Sales function, Project, Installation and Service of wind farms throughout these regions. The Transport Execution department is responsible for handling the entire supply chain of our oversized turbine components from manufacturing plant to project site. The department has an open and informal culture, where teamwork and good communication is key to our success. Vestas has various open positions in different countries within the NCE Transport department.


Responsibilities
You will have the overall ownership of the project transport budget and the operation from worldwide origins up to site. This include being in close communication with a broad variety of internal and external stakeholders on transport status and optimisation in a timely manner, and to identify and develop cost-out initiatives within the supply chain. In addition, your responsibility will cover:
Full coordination of deliveries to site including nominated transport provider, authorities and other relevant stakeholders, requiring focused solutions for changing situations or upcoming bottlenecks in order to comply with the delivery schedule
Provide support with technical questions and assist with budgets in the planning and tender phase
Thoroughly handle the projects´ transport spend during execution, and upon financial closing by controlling and assessing subcontractor performance
Investigate transport quality issues and drive problem-solving of deliveries
Assess road surveys, storage areas, port capacities, etc. and develop transport strategies in close collaboration with other Vestas business areas
Plan and coordinate the returns for Vestas´ owned transport equipment from construction sites back to the relevant factories worldwide
Follow Vestas processes and standards, including the correct usage of our Transport Management Systems, including close collaboration with our customs department to ensure that the correct documentation is provided on time

 
Qualifications
Relevant education within the transport, supply chain management or freight-forwarding area or similar with several years of related experience
Great project management skills and proven ability to master the spend control in projects
You probably have an operational Project Freight Forwarding or Heavy Haulage trucking background. Over-sized/heavy transport experience to be preferred
Proficient in written and verbal English and another language 
Good proficiency of IT with solid knowledge of ERP systems (such as SAP)
Experience from a large international company is beneficial

Additional information
The position is based in Malmö, Sweden but other locations could be considered. You should expect approximately 30 travel days per year.
