Two doctoral students in Water and Environmental Studies specialising in the management of environmental risks in the Baltic Sea Areas of responsibility A doctoral student should, primarily, concentrate on his/her own doctoral studies.However, a doctoral student may teach or carry out administrative duties to a limited degree, i.e.maximum 20% of a full-time position.The period of employment for a doctoral student may be no more than eight years.However, remuneration is only available for the equivalent of four years of full-time employment.The doctoral studies project in which the successful candidates will be involved is part of the interdisciplinary research project, RISKGOV, which in collaboration with researchers in Sweden, Finland, Poland and Germany intends to study and compare how important environmental risks connected to the Baltic Sea's ecosystem are assessed, managed and communicated.From this knowledge base, the RISKGOV project intends to recommend ways to improve the management of the environmental risks studied.The assignments will include analysing, among other things, written sources, conducting independent surveys in Sweden and the neighbouring countries around the Baltic Sea, producing scholarly publication and disseminating the research results.
