Centre for Work Life and Evaluation Studies
The present position will be part of the research programme Organisational and Social Safety Climate in Human Service Organisations – Developing Proactive Approaches and Tools for Research, Practice and Intervention (OSSC) conducted at the Centre for Work Life and Evaluation Studies (CTA). The OSSC programme is financed by Forte and the overall aim is to develop organisational and social safety climate as a theoretical and empirical construct that can contribute to a sustainable working environment in the context of Human Service Organisations (HSOs), such as schools, social and health care. CTA is a research environment comprising researchers from several departments at Malmö University.
Department of School Development and Leadership (SOL)
The holder of the post-doctoral position will be employed at SOL. SOL is one of the six Departments at the The Faculty of Education and Society, that offers some of the most popular programmes within teacher education in Sweden. Education and research at SOL focuses on Special Education, School development and Leadership.
About the position
The post-doctoral position is for 2 years and mainly involves research related to the research programme OSSC. The main task is to conduct research with the aim of developing methods that promote healthy Human Service Organisations. The post-doc will be involved in all aspects of the research process, including project planning, research design, empirical analysis, presentation of findings at conferences, and preparation of manuscripts for submission to leading peer-reviewed journals. Teaching and other duties may also be included, but up to no more than 20 percent of the working hours.
Besides conducting research, the applicant is expected to take part in activities such as staff meetings, seminars and conferences at CTA and SOL.
Qualifications
Appointment to a post-doctoral position requires that the applicant has a PhD, or an international degree deemed equivalent to a PhD, in a relevant subject within social sciences. The PhD should be completed no more than three years before the last date for applications.
Selection criteria
This is a career development position primarily focused on research. The position is intended as an initial step in a career, and the assessment of the applicants will primarily be based on their research qualifications and potential as researchers. Assessment criteria:
• The quality and focus of the doctoral thesis
• Research activities within fields relevant to the appointment in question
• Documented ability to independently conduct research of a good standard
• Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate with actors in other parts of society with a connection to education and research
• Documented experience of working in a multidisciplinary research environment
• Excellent communication skills in English and Swedish or another Scandinavian language in both speech and writing
