Two System Leaders Platform within Energy Storage System @ Electromobility
Take the opportunity to join the exciting change journey Electromobility is embarking on when creating the future powertrains for our customers as well as the future working place for our employees.
This is us, your new colleagues at Electromobility

Electromobility is one of the main development areas within Volvo Group and was created to be in the forefront of environmental friendly transport solutions for a more sustainable tomorrow.
We are responsible for the transition from conventional powertrains to electromobility and to secure a stepwise implementation in different segments/regions. We develop and drive the electromobility product portfolio for Trucks & Buses as well as creating opportunities for all business areas within Volvo Group. Electromobility is a growing agile driven organization in place to shape the future!
The importance of electromobility is growing every day and a key component within the electrified powertrain is the Energy Storage System (ESS). At our section, we are accountable for the lifecycle management of the ESS, from advanced engineering, throughout product development into the maintenance phase.

To the ESS (Energy Storage System) section we are now recruiting two system leaders to the ESS platform group.
We are responsible to develop the complete ESS functionality realized by HW and SW solutions. You will be part of an agile and welcoming organization with skilled product teams consisting of passionate people. We work in an optimistic atmosphere, where joy, knowledge sharing and openness are key characteristics. With us, you will have a diverse, friendly and open-minded team on your side, always providing you the help needed to manage tasks you cannot imagine today.
We are working in a cross-functional way from requirement, concept and design, final verification, implementation in production and aftermarket. To secure commonality and an efficient product portfolio we need to support the ESS organization with direction and decision material.

What will you do?
You will work as a system leader for the future and for today’s ESS platform. We have a modular strategy for our future platform, and you will be the main driver for this on complete ESS Level. This means that you will together with chief engineers and product owners secure that the stakeholder needs are continuously balanced and supporting an increasing commonality. There is an important teamwork to be done in ESS, which is why we are looking for two persons to team up on platform level with the same goal: increasing the commonality and efficiency in our product offering.

Position 1: Modular portfolio focus
You need to secure that we have an overview of our stakeholder needs and that these needs are balanced between the stakeholders. You will take the lead in defining the modular strategy on our platform and, with support from the product owners, define the strategy for our components. You will define the governance of our complete product portfolio to secure that we continuously evaluate cost and volume impact.

Position 2: Modular architecture focus
To secure commonality we need a modular architecture to secure that we have a good breakdown of our batteries. We also need to be in control of all our interfaces. You will together with component owners and architects take the lead of the modularity work in ESS. This includes securing governance and balancing of interfaces, as well as evaluating interface changes and their impacts on the complete ESS architecture.

Who are you? Are we a perfect match?
We believe that to be successful in this position, you are a pragmatic team player who loves to develop system designs with the customer in focus. Since the area is in an early phase, it is important that you are flexible and enjoy working in a changing environment. You have a broad knowledge and experience of both electrical, mechanical and functional development. We believe that you have extensive experience working with complex system design with a commonality perspective. Experience of working with modular architectures would be a great asset.
Master of Science in Mechatronics, Electrical or Mechanical engineering
8 years of experience from System design & architecture in complex mechatronic systems.
6 years of experience from System design & architecture within automotive systems.
Experience in requirements management and balancing requirements between stakeholders and technical solutions.
