The British Embassy is looking to recruit two Trade Advisers to join the Department for International Trade (DIT) team, to oversee and deliver trade work in Sweden.
The Department for International Trade (DIT) is a ministerial Government department, fundamental in supporting the Government's agenda to grow the UK economy.
DIT promotes British trade and investment around the world; helps to build an appetite for British goods and services globally; and works to encourage foreign investment into the UK. DIT also brings together policy, promotion and financial expertise to break down barriers to trade & investment and to help businesses to succeed. The DIT team in Sweden is comprised of 16 people based in Stockholm. The team works with both Swedish investors and British companies doing business in Sweden.
Support UK companies in various high value sectors looking to export or expand footprint in Sweden. The job includes identifying market opportunities and responding to enquiries from UK companies interested in Sweden and Europe North. Support wider activities, where appropriate, by collaborating with Embassy colleagues and other Government departments to deliver common objectives.
Key responsibilities:
. Support delivery of bespoke assistance and advice to UK companies across various sectors.
. Identify leads and opportunities for British business and deliver a range of DIT Market Entry Services to support the delivery of DIT country targets.
. Support the production of analytical reports, briefs and other governmental communication. Maintain and develop administration and routine tasks of a commercial department. Contribute to the wider DIT and Embassy team in Sweden.
. Support organization of and participation at trade events both physically and virtually.
Essential qualifications, skills and experience:
. University degree, Business/Economics or applicable subject.
. Fluent verbal and written English and Swedish.
. Between 1 to 3 years' of business development experience.
. A self-starter, with the ability to organise self and work effectively.
. Ability to work effectively and supportively on shared objectives with colleagues.
. Networking skills.
. Understand and focus on customer needs.
. Knowledge of the Swedish business environment
Desirable qualifications
. UK sector knowledge would be an advantage.
. Advanced IT skills - Office 365.
. Flexibility to travel.

Additional information:
These fixed terms positions a full-time (40 hours per week). One of the positions has a duration of 9 months until end of March 2021 and the second one has a duration of 12 months until the end of June 2021.
The successful candidate will be subject to confirmation of a background check and security clearance.
