Two Year Postdoctoral Fellowship in CHILD (Children-Health-Intervention-Learning-Development

Description
The Postdoctoral Fellow will be attached to the CHILD research environment and funded by the Swedish Research Council, Jönköping University and the Swedish Institute for Disability Research (SIDR).

Responsibilities
Over a two year period, the Postdoctoral Fellow will participate in a research project about child participation and engagement and be part of the CHILD research environment at Jönköping University and be engaged in activities in SIDR.

Qualifications
Ph.D from an accredited domestic or foreign institution in special education, early intervention, developmental science or comparable, or be expected to submit a doctoral thesis no later than June 30th, 2014. Those without doctoral degrees should submit a letter from their supervisor confirming the expected submission date as part of their application. Preference will be given to applicants who are within three years of being awarded their PhD. If there are special reasons, such as sick leave, parental leave, or a position of responsibility within a trade or student union, an applicant with a doctorate completed more than three years ago may also be considered. Please detail any such considerations in your covering letter.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate their ability to produce high-quality research, as evidenced by publications and their doctoral thesis, conference presentations and letters of reference. Priority will be given in the selection process to research potential. Advanced skills in handling large statistical data-sets is a merit. Some weight will be given to teaching proficiency and administrative skills. Excellent proficiency in English is required, in speaking, reading and writing.

Terms of employment
The duration of the Fellowship is two years. The post-doc position has an anticipated start date of September 1, 2014.The start date is negotiable, but will be no later than October 2014.

Covering letter, outlining the applicant?s research interests within the scope of the project as described above (maximum of two pages), including plans for furthering CHILD?s goals as described above and on the website. CV, including a list of publications, details of conference presentations and teaching experience and the names of three referees. Letters of reference should be submitted by the time of application. Maximum 5 writing specimens may be attached to the application.
