About this opportunity
As an Engineer in the UE Team you will be responsible for analysis and troubleshooting issues related to User Equipment (UE). UE includes Mobile phones (Commercial, Prototype modem/modules), Commercial pocket routers, dongles etc. You will handle support cases to Customer units for Demo & Trials as well as product development requirements related to System Test Plant Builds.

What you will do
UE Handling including Software updates, handling second line support and providing resolution.
Ensuring timely solution of issues reported by end user related to UE demands, license management of UE troubleshooting tools
Building knowledge and creating/updating documentation for new device models
Preparing lab test setups having UE’s for end to end feature validation as per the requirement
Configure and integrate User Equipment (UE) and solutions into networks (new and existing)
Software and firmware upgrades of UE as required
Analyze and troubleshoot issues related to User Equipment (UE) with Test environment
Provide required solutions on UE activities and change management
Ensuring timely solution of issues reported by end user related to Real UE’s with adequate Root Cause Analysis.
Debugging of UE attach/traffic issues and log analysis


You will bring
A University degree in relevant area, or corresponding experience
Telecom technology and strong UE capability understanding.
Knowledge of User Equipment’s (Mobile-smartphone, prototype, routers) and the telecom network
Good Knowledge of UE Lifecyle Management and UE handling for EoL devices in Test Environment
Good knowledge of Call flow (4G,5G) and theoretical understanding of attach/detach
Good understanding of reading UE capability (throughput, MIMO etc), ENDC band combination mapping
Having good understanding in mobile technologies
Excellent customer handling and negotiation skills for handling Demo & Trial demands globally
Expert of software and firmware upgrade of UE as per feature needs
Knowledge of PXE network boot OS installation
UE driver’s installation on PC and integration of UE/simulators in setup
Configuration and integration of Real UEs of different vendors like Apple, Samsung, Sony etc.
Knowledge of simulator debugging tools
UE attach to network and good log analysis skills to point out problem scenarios
Knowledge of throughput testing and reasons/solutions for throughput degradation
Understanding of 3GPP systems: Core and RAN and 3GPP standards Knowledge of LTE Air interface, call processing and network architecture specifically focused on RAN
Root cause analysis of UEs attach/traffic issues and log analysis via UE debugging tools.
Knowledge on cloud and virtualization in telecom environment
