Expansive Worlds is a creative division of Avalanche Studios Group and a leading developer and publisher of outdoor games. Since 2009, Expansive Worlds has been devoted to delivering highly immersive outdoor gaming experiences for millions of players and best known for the long-standing and successful theHunter franchise.
The Position
Expansive Worlds is currently hiring a UI Scripter/Developer to join our Call of the Wild development team, either in Malmo or Stockholm, to help implement the User Interface for theHunter: Call of the Wild. As a UI Developer on this project you will work with designers and artists to conceive of and implement elements of how the game is presented to the player. Your work will involve working with game code to enable the UI Design and Art teams to create a compelling and fantastic UI.
Particularly for this role, it is critical that you see your responsibility as delivering a successful end-user experience, together with your team-mates, rather than just handing off technological solutions to content creators. Previous experience working with multiple systems and stakeholders is a definite advantage. Finally, as with any other developer role, you will have to be able to balance functional and aesthetic requirements with technical requirements in the areas of performance, stability, memory usage, and interoperability.
Required Qualifications
- Experience using Scaleform and Animate
- Experience using Actionscript
- Previously shipped games as a developer/programmer on PC, console or mobile platforms
- Experience optimizing your work for stability and performance
- An eye for good UX design
- Ability to estimate time requirements for tasks realistically
Beneficial Experience
- Experience in UI design
- Experience in frontend / web development
- Experience in C/C++
- Deep reverence for the principles of UI design
