Job Description
We are now looking for Unit Lead Engineer Application Platforms that will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery and health of the core application platform built to power H&M products and services across the global ecosystem. You will help to drive development, core platform maintenance, and automation to accelerate product delivery, and ensure consistent and stable services. This role will ensure that the technologies employed across environments including security and engineering are correctly operated through a mixture of in-house and third-party teams and services, to provide a resilient, secure, and highly available platform for our products and services to run on, and that the overall strategy for platform delivery is defined, approved, and implemented. As Unit Lead Engineer for Application Platforms, you are passionate about developing a modern, secure, stable and application platforms fit for a modern fashion business. You will be accountable for the technical development, required transformation and operations of the Application platforms, thereby providing a core high-quality technology service to the H&M Group business. This includes scaling down and phasing out as well as developing new features on the platform. Ensuring stable, scalable operations and new feature development as necessary to drive business value will be among your key objectives.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
To establish, deliver, and refine a platform engineering roadmap to ensure that all platforms and products remain current, deliver value to product engineering teams, and supports the needs of internal stakeholders in terms of scalability, resilience, security, capacity, and operational maintenance.
Define a technology roadmap that includes deliverables focused on the continued improvement of the supported solutions
Create tools and automated workflow capabilities to enable our software engineers to test and promote code across the different environments and into production with maximum velocity. Responsible for technical support during incidents and development of the Platform
Responsible for translating business requirements into technical requirements and new features
Monitor vendors and market regularly for the latest products, best practices and emerging technologies in product lifecycle management
Work with Enabling platform teams to secure efficient usage of technology platforms
Responsible to provide input to QBR on critical technology priorities that will enable continued product development and scaling
Accountable along with BT commercial to ensure healthy tech partner relationships
Drive consistency in practice, process, toolset and architecture within Application Platform Engineering
Lead, coach and develop members of the area, promoting best practice in technical architecture and continually benchmarking against industry standards
Formal staff responsibility, including salary review, performance dialogues and support in individual development plans and competence needs



Qualifications
Proven advanced training in information technology, computer science or equivalent
Extensive experience (showing upward trajectory and diverse experience across multiple teams) in software engineering as well as in leadership positions
Deep knowledge in other major Platforms such as like Hybris, Adobe requirements and transition from existing environments
Deep knowledge in modern architecture principles and distributed systems (e.g. API first, modular application design, microservices, test automation) and interest in the latest technology trends
Demonstrates a combination of a highly-technical engineering leader and effective relationship skills
Outstanding troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
Deep understanding of the cost drivers in systems delivery and operations and the commercial consequences of the technical decisions made. Ability to manage and prioritize dozens of requirements, deadlines, & projects
Ability to understand the complexity of H&M business and the role of foundational technology as an integrated part of the business
