We are looking for Unit Lead Engineers for our transforming tech organisation. Our units are big functional domains and the work of leading the unit will be critical for us to meet the ever-evolving customer demands. You will be a decision maker and shape the future together with us from an engineering standpoint. This involves you leading, developing, and implementing our technology strategy but also be essential in the development of the solutions. We are looking for you who has experience within Customer, Supply chain, Corporate Solutions or Digital & Mobile. Furthermore, you will work closely with our Chief Enterprise Architect and be the functional lead for 8-10 senior architects ensuring best practices and development of competence across the unit.
Responsibilities
As a Unit Lead Engineer, you will lead a team of senior architects and engineers to define and execute a thorough roadmap and product portfolio priorities based on a strong understanding of customer and business needs, insights, and in-depth data analysis. In your organisation you will be responsible for modern in-store technologies, toolsets, and standards to be used in the Unit. Furthermore, you will be:
· Accountable for translating and maintaining technology strategy into unit specific strategy and roadmap
· Working closely with stakeholders to ensure consistent architecture roadmap with product architecture
· Responsible to play an active role in the tech design forum to drive governance and decide on technical guardrails and principals
· Staff responsible and hire new people for the unit when in need of new talent
Qualifications
We believe you have 10 + years' experience as a leading engineering manager, preferably within retail or e-commerce, using and implementing modern technologies in complex organisations at scale. You have strong leadership skills with experience as staff responsible and you excel at stakeholder management collaboration across business units. We also believe you have the ability to practice creative and critical thinking by adding ideas and solutions to ongoing challenges with outstanding troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving thinking. In addition to this you have deep understanding and knowledge within:
· Architect/design/implementation experience of large-scale, highly available transactional systems with loosely coupled architecture patterns
· Designing, implementing, and deploying cloud native solutions on public cloud such as AWS, GCP and Azure
· Cybersecurity and privacy concepts, principles & solutions
· Process improvement, optimization, and software quality assurance
