The Institute of Health and Care Sciences is at the forefront both nationally and internationally in the field of person-centred care. Person-centred care is present in education and research as well as innovation. The department is organised according to academic areas made up by interdisciplinary profiles: Care in long-term conditions; The Life Context and Health Promotion; Diagnostics, Acute and Critical Care and Learning and Leadership for Health Care Professionals. The purpose of having academic areas is to integrate the department’s joint competence to promote quality in education, research, and collaboration.
The Institute of Health and Care Sciences offers several undergraduate and postgraduate programmes for nurses, radiographers, midwives, and specialist nurses. The basic training courses for nurses and radiographers lead to a professional degree as well as a bachelor's degree. The training of midwives and the programmes for specialist nurses lead to professional licences in combination with a master's degree. Moreover, courses are offered at an advanced level, offering the possibility to continue studying towards a master's degree in one of the Institute’s main subjects; nursing, reproductive and perinatal health, radiography or health care pedagogics. There is also a doctoral study programme at the Institute of Health and Care Sciences.

Subject area description
Health care sciences focus on a person’s experiences of illness, disease and suffering. Partly, in connection with rehabilitation and promotion of health but also in relation to the biological body and sociocultural structures. Learning as well as the organisation of health care are also central components of health and care sciences.
Duties
The position will be placed within the section for Learning and Leadership for Health Professionals. You will be teaching mainly within courses at the undergraduate- and graduate level, with a focus on organization, learning and leadership in healthcare and nursing as well as scientific methods. Teaching may also be required within single subject courses in nursing training. The department’s clinical training centre is part of the learning and leadership section and some teaching of clinical practice may be included. The tasks may take place in collaboration with other sections at the department.
The position requires planning and teaching, coordinating of resources, enabling continuity across the courses, keeping up to date with current research and as a course coordinator. Being a course coordinator includes developing and coordinating the learning objectives, activities, forms of examination and assessment criteria in relation to content, purpose and current pedagogical research. It also includes quality, assuring the education quality with validated assessment methods. Furthermore, the employment includes supervising and examining degree projects at the undergraduate and graduate level. The position also involves administrative tasks. In addition, we expect the candidate to actively work on development of the field. Other activities may also be included and the employment may evolve over time.
The employment requires the candidate to actively work to achieve the department's objectives and business plan, and actively contribute to the development of the academic environment within the section. It is expected of all employees to participate in joint meetings and activities organised by the Institute.
The applicant is expected to be able to teach in Swedish and English.
Eligibility
The eligibility criteria for employing teaching staff are set out in the Appointment Procedure for Teaching Posts at the University of Gothenburg.
Completed at least second cycle studies in Nursing, Care Pedagogics or Medical Sciences. Shown pedagogical expertise. Current and clinical skills as a registered nurse or other health profession with a Swedish licence. A nursing degree is an advantage.
We require the applicant to be able to speak and write in Swedish and English.
Assessment criteria
The basis for employment as a lecturer is stated in the Appointment Procedure for Teaching Posts at the University of Gothenburg.

Permanent position, full time 100%, located at the Institution of Health and Care Sciences. Probationary employment will be applied.
