Nursing
Subject area description
In the discipline of nursing, the knowledge about health and living a good life despite the presence of illness and/or disability is developed as well as the knowledge of a peaceful and dignified passing. Nursing is based on needs and problems related to health and ill health and daily life, but also on people's resources and ability to deal with problems. In nursing, it is not ill health/illness/disability per se, but people's reactions and interpretation of their illness that are the focus. A central aspect in nursing is the close relationship between the nurse, the patient and the relative/close friend.
