As the Upstream Commissioning Manager, you will take coordination and ownership of the Process commissioning of the active material process plant(s) for the large-scale battery factory being built in Northern Sweden. Your responsibilities will cover steering both the commissioning planning as well as directly controlling the execution phase. The assignment will begin with finalizing the US1 commissioning scope before transitioning to the US2 facility.
10+ years of experience leading a multidiscipline systemized commissioning of a new build process facility successfully on more than one occasion
Overall areas of responsibility and activities
- Develop the detailed Commissioning planning for the Upstream process and associated supporting process utilities and waste treatment facilities.
- Develop the Commissioning planning, structure, and all other necessary project events to support the commissioning of the scope.
- Contribute to the Commissioning and, turnover process of the Manufacturing team.
- Develop the commissioning schedule for the scope to be integrated into the overarching NV project plan, integrating NV equipment vendors, 3rd parties, or internal NV groups as required.
- With NV technical specialists and vendors develop the Commissioning Protocols and Performance Tests to meet NVEtt contractual completion targets.
- Coordinate the systemization of the NVEtt project and commissioning work scope with the delivery teams, contractors, and Northvolt equipment vendors and partners.
- Build the Upstream Commissioning team, identify, recruit, manage, and coordinate project commissioning resources from Northvolt, the Integration Contractors, and suppliers to ensure delivery during both the planning and execution phases.
- Drive the day-to-day execution, tracking, control, and performance of commissioning at the site, for the scope, meaning driving equipment and systems commissioning.
- Monitor and control of completion and commissioning at the site, reporting KPIs and progress as required by NV to ensure delivery of the scope.
- Ensure all relevant environmental, health, and safety standards are being followed, encouraging a positive health and safety culture.
- Arrange the handover of all relevant commissioning documentation, model data, and required certification including both NV and legal requirements to the Manufacturing team.
Qualifications/education/experience
A relevant university degree (B.Sc. / M.Sc. or similar). Engineering degree preferred but not required
10+ years of working experience of relevant industrial experience in commissioning management, ideally
in hydrometallurgical or chemicals process settings.
Must have worked in a multicultural environment
Fluency in written and spoken English.
Specific skills:
Implementation of commissioning processes.
Track record as commissioning manager driving chemicals process commissioning in design and execution through to start-up and handover.
