Role Summary/Purpose:

The User Experience Lead works with business stakeholders and System Architects to drive holistic user experience implementation across programs and drives collaboration with marketing, architecture, product management, and the central user experience platform teams to drive awareness of user needs and consistency of experience across the portfolio.
Essential Responsibilities The User Experience Lead also works with a cross-functional team of design researchers, interaction designers, human factors & usability specialists, design technologists, and visual designers. UX of GE?s software, hardware and consumables is within scope for this role.

Essential Responsibilities:

Maintains a high-level, holistic vision of user experience across the portfolio and how it ties to the overall business user experience
Effectively partner with product management, engineering, and other internal stakeholders to ensure programs receive appropriate UX support
Maintains connections to business-level user experience guidance, including personas, workflows, and visual design guidelines
Lead the creation of interaction design and information architecture deliverables such as site maps, workflows, user interaction models, low- through high-fidelity prototypes, and graphic assets
Identify and share trends and methodologies relevant to user experience
Coach and mentor UX practitioners
Represents interests of their products to the business-level user experience organization
Lead the consistent implementation of GEHC UI design standards and pattern library
Influences common modeling, design and coding practices
Facilitates the re-use of ideas, components, and proven patterns

Qualifications/Requirements:

Bachelor?s degree in Human Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Industrial Design or closely-related field
English as professional working language
At least 8 years of combined professional experience applying user experience methods toward product design
Demonstrated expertise in applying user and design research methodologies such as contextual inquiry, focus groups, and interviews
Experience from working in a global organization, preferably a matrix organization and excellent interpersonal skills
Demonstrated expertise in applying interaction design and human factors methodologies such as card sorting, task analysis, heuristic analysis, cognitive walk-through, expert review, site maps, workflows, eye-tracking studies, and low- through high-fidelity prototyping
Excellent conceptual, problem-solving and oral/written communication skills
Able to travel up to 35% to support NPI?s, facilitate training and support development projects. Travels will be mainly to Ge sites in India, the US and within Europe
Familiarity with integrating user-centered design techniques within an Agile development environment
A strong practical understanding of design and product development
Strategic thinker with an innovative spirit
Team player and collaborator with a positive attitude
EU work permit

Additional Eligibility Requirement

GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of
employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.

Sweden is preferred location for this position however United States may be also considered.
