MAX IV-laboratoriet har varit framgångsrikt i drygt 30 år och just nu färdigställs MAX IV, den nya synkrotronljusanläggningen i Lund.
Fullt utbyggt kommer den att ta emot mer än 2 000 forskare årligen från Sverige och resten av världen. De forskar inom bland annat materialvetenskap, strukturbiologi, kemi och nanoteknologi. 200 personer är idag anställda vid MAX IV-laboratoriet.
MAX IV, Sveriges största och mest ambitiösa satsning på forskningsinfrastruktur, blir världens ljusstarkaste synkrotronljusanläggning när den invigs i juni 2016.
MAX IV-laboratoriet är en nationell forskningsanläggning med Lunds universitet som värd.



MAX IV is creating a new integrated user’s office, MAX IV U, which will serve all users (academic and industrial)
We are now looking for a User Office Coordinator that, in close partnership with the already recruited Industrial Liaison Officer, will take the lead in developing and implementing strategies for the academic and industrial use of MAX IV.

A successful implementation of those strategies and the delivery of fully integrated and high quality services towards users will require a close collaboration between a number of functions within MAX IV, which is the reason that we have named the role coordinator.

 The User Office Coordinator’s tasks include:

- Take the lead in setting up and developing the MAX IV Users Office with a focus on the academic users
- In close collaboration with other functions at MAX IV develop and update the necessary legal and practical framework, policies and guidelines, associated with the use of MAX IV.
- Update and continuously develop the routines and IT systems necessary to launch and evaluate calls for experiments at MAX IV
- Work with national and international stakeholders to create an active and engaged user community
- Organize and participate in outreach activities towards scientist in academia
- Identify needs for training and take an active part in organizing courses and workshops together with external partners such as universities and other facilities
- Act as a MAX IV representative at external meetings and events of relevance to the Users Office, which can be both scientific and strategic in nature
- Assist the communication group at MAX IV by collating information and texts concerning academic activities related to MAX IV
- Promote initiatives that will stimulate the initiation of scientific collaboration as well as to acquire additional funding for scientific and technical development of the beamlines at MAX IV

 The following qualifications must be met:

- PhD in a scientific area relevant for the science at MAX IV and documented post-doctoral experience within such an area
- Experience with synchrotron based research
- Project management skills
- Documented leadership skills
- Strong social and communication skills
- Excellent command of English

 The following qualifications are considered an asset:

-  Experience of managing access programs
- Documented experience in planning of and participation in outreach activities towards academia and/or industry
- Experience in interacting with funding agencies and science policy-making organizations
- An extensive academic network, preferentially within the Nordic and Baltic countries
