You are all about research!
Your passion and curiosity enable the teams you work with to collect important feedback from our audiences. The insights that you generate will drive the development of established media houses like VG and Aftonbladet, as well as many other digital products and services in Scandinavian media.
As a UX researcher in Schibsted News Media you will be working to ensure that business and product strategies are guided by user insights, and that all product development in Schibsted Media is based on user needs. You will be a part of a central team of 10 UX Researchers based in Oslo and Stockholm. Our backgrounds span from service design to political science. We cherish and celebrate this diversity in our team.
What you will do:
- Work closely with multiple stakeholders, consisting of designers, product managers, journalists and developers, to identify and prioritize user research opportunities.
- Assist teams in choosing the best method or combination of methods based on their research questions, timeline and available resources.
- Conduct timely but thorough analyses that will produce insightful and actionable results.
- Work actively to impact product design and development roadmaps through your findings.
- Planning and conducting UX research by choosing the method that is best suited for the research question at hand: Usability tests, diary studies, interviews etc.
- Initiate, plan and conduct strategic research projects with multiple stakeholders or projects that span across multiple teams, with close support from other UX researchers.
- Spread insights from your research work in the organisation.
Knowledge, skills and experience:
- University degree or higher education in psychology, cognitive science, design, human factors, sociology, or in a comparable field.
- You have 1-3 years of experience in a research position with focus on qualitative research.
- Experience of UX research is a great advantage.
- You have experience in conducting research from end-to-end, from methodology design to analysis and presentation.
- You understand the value of combining quantitative and qualitative insights.
- You know how to balance user needs and business needs.
- You have a collaborative mindset and enjoy communicating with different stakeholders.
- Former colleagues will describe you as a team player that enjoys giving constructive feedback and helping your team members to evolve.
- You are a person who enjoys writing and communicating in English.
- Norwegian/Swedish does not have to be your native language, but you do have to be able to conduct interviews in Norwegian or Swedish as well as English.

Most of our teams work distributed, with colleagues in Oslo, Stockholm, Krakow, Gdansk, Bergen, and Stavanger.
