This will be us - your new colleagues within User Experience Design
User Experience Design is a newly created Chapter in Digital & IT. We have the goal to drive change through design in Volvo Group business teams by discovering user needs and using a data-driven approach to improve the usability of products and services across the company. As a UX Chapter, we are focused on building our skills and developing our people in the user experience competencies needed to excel un crafting compelling digital experiences that add value for our business and for our customers. In our UX Chapter, we’ve defined areas of expertise of UX Research, UX Creation, and UX Strategy to guide competence growth of our design team. This team, as a Chapter will be supporting our employees at the Volvo Group in improving their understanding of UX best practices and methods to become a company that builds applications and services in a data-driven approach that puts people first.

We seek an innovative problem solver, a collaborative team player, and a skilled UX designer who can handle multiple products of differing size and scope. You are driven by curiosity and passionate about user-centered experience design and able to handle both high-level vision and detail-focused execution. You will work through the different stages of the design process, doing user research, facilitate ideation exercises and workshops, create and test product prototypes and support and guide the development team in product industrialization.
From the UX Chapter you will work across multiple teams from one of our hubs in Gothenburg, Lyon, or Wroclaw collaborating closely with engineering, product, and business folks to find elegant but practical solutions to design challenges.
Your background
We’d like to see you demonstrate experience in UX design and research and show that you understand and can communicate the principles of user experience design and UX strategy. We’d like to know that you are comfortable with some but not all of the methods and principles of Agile, Scrum, Lean Startup, DevOps, and Design Thinking. You should be passionate about driving strategic & technological transformation in a business focused, fact-based, and collaborative way to achieve real impact.
We expect you to be self-driven and comfortable taking the lead in discussions and workshops, with energy and drive and a “can-do” attitude. We also want you to join us in our continuous improvement work to find better and smarter ways of working. You should feel energized by working both independently and interdependently, have proven skills in cross-functional collaboration and thrive in managing, fostering, and enabling both the performing and performing aspects of the job.
