Scania is currently undergoing an exciting transformation from a traditional truck manufacturer to a provider of complete sustainable transport solutions. IT is a crucial part of this transformation as Scania’s success is depending on flexible and efficient solutions that support current and future business requirements.
What is this role about?
The UX-Designer’s job is first and foremost, to be an advocate for the user – to consider what’s best and design user experiences based on users and business goals, as closely as possible. You focus on having a deep understanding of users’ behaviour, their needs, what they value, their abilities and limitations in correlation to their interaction with a product or service. As a UX designer, you function as a connection point between users, development team and business stakeholder, while ensuring that the products and services are usable, enjoyable and accessible.
Knowledge of customer needs and business goals is crucial for your success in this position. You will continuously gather this knowledge through communication and collaboration with customers, Scania colleagues as well as through partners.
In this role you will...
• Work closely with the development team, product owners and stakeholders.
• Do user research and translate it into customer journey maps, personas, concepts, user flows and sitemaps.
• Develop wireframes and prototypes from a customer-centric perspective by using the Lean Start Up framework and Design Thinking mindset.
• Be a UX evangelist and have access to the Design System UX-network within Scania.
• Work with tools like Figma, Miro and Balsamiq.
• Facilitate workshops are Design Sprints and Story Mapping.
We are looking for someone who is...
• Curious and enthusiastic, with a strong customer focus mindset.
• Passionate about design, have a relevant academic degree and have around 3+ years of experience in this profession.
• Natural at zooming out to see the big picture and then diving in to set the important details and approaches things systematically.
• Comfortable with working from a strategic level to detail improvements in the implementation phase.
• Good communication skills and can easily communicate and envision concepts to team members and stakeholders.
• A strong advocate for design thinking and know that through building, measuring and learning, we can ensure that we are doing the right things.
• A team player that loves to share your knowledge & ideas, coach and help team members.
It’s a plus if you...
• Have experience with software development or is comfortable with the development process.
• Has worked with Design Systems before.
• Have worked with data analysis tools like Google Analytics, Hotjar, Power BI etc.
• Have an interest in UI as well.
