We are looking for innovative, committed people to join us in this endeavour and create safe, sustainable and connected cars. We believe in the power of people and will challenge and support you to reach your full potential. Join us and be part of Volvo Cars’ journey into the future.
What's in it for you?
Do you want to be part of a large-scale transformation in the mobility space and explore the intersection of transportation and how it manifests in daily life beyond four-wheeled vehicles? Curious about the commodification of mobility and access to transport without ownership?
The role of UX Manager - Mobile Experience, reporting to the Head of Mobile UX, will be a critical part of defining the aspects of the journey that is always in the user's pocket, forming a bridge between web, car, and even in-home touchpoints.
Volvo Cars is on an ambitious journey to redefine what it means to give people freedom to move in the most innovative times in the mobility industry. Volvo Cars is looking to redefine all aspects of its ecosystem - from the vehicle itself, to how it is owned, driven, powered and purchased online. Volvo Cars' UX organisation is central to its strategy to put user experience at the centre of all we do. We gather insights about our user's and redefine and elevate the experience of Volvo's products and services across all touchpoints.
What will you do?
The Mobile UX teams manages the native mobile platform and supports the relationship product area. The Mobile UX Manager fosters collaboration within the team and with other teams. The role offers a unique opportunity to gain a birds-eye view over and influence many new innovations across the Volvo Cars ecosystem.
Our new UX Manager will manage a growing team of eight UX Designers at different levels and stages of their careers as well as lead hiring responsibilities as the team grows. You will represent the mobile team's efforts across the broader UX organisation and Volvo Cars leadership. This means maintaining ongoing alignment with leaders in other verticals. Together with them, you will define the vision and culture, manage day-to-day challenges the team is facing, and build team culture through rituals and supporting and mentoring the designers, researchers, and writers on your team.
You will create a safe environment in your team where failure is tolerated and accepted as the way to keep growing and learning from mistakes.
You will also be involved in the creative direction of the projects the team is working on. This involves diagnosing complex problems, establishing guiding policies, and generating clear and concise actions.
As a direct partner of the leadership group for the associated product cluster, the UX Manger together with the leaders in Product and Engineering form the leadership trio covering these three key function areas for every successful product. You will represent Mobile UX initiatives and provide status updates to stakeholders on short notice and present to them and the Executive leadership at Volvo Cars.
Location
Based in Stockholm or Gothenburg, the UX Manager - Mobile UX has direct reports in both cities, so occasional travel is required. International candidates are welcome! We have a team that helps with relocation, but remote work is not an option.
