Yepstr's vision is to help young people take the step into the labor market. With our app it is possible for young people to find their first job in the neighborhood, like babysitting or gardening, and begin building their CV. When they have proven themselves they unlock jobs for companies. Yepstr has succeeded when all high-school students graduate with a CV filled with references and multiple job-interviews waiting!
Yepstr is looking for a business-focused and analytical UX researcher that wants to help us understand our users and their needs - ensuring that we prioritize the areas in our product that have the highest impact. You will join Yepstr at a super exciting growth-phase, early enough to really make your mark. Through your work you will help young people to get their first job and at the same time make the everyday life better for families.
As our UX Researcher you will be on the front line, analyzing input from how our users actually interact with our app, inviting them to user tests and sending out surveys to understand why they get stuck at certain points in the user flow. We have a very engaged user community, both among the young people looking for work and among the customers. This means that we perform user tests every week and that we have a lot of users that are willing to take part in surveys or give feedback. It is an agile workplace where this user feedback can be implemented as a design change within weeks.
As Yepstr’s UX Researcher you will have ownership for the overall user flows. We envision you becoming something of a Master of Simplicity - removing things we don't need, pushing for simple solutions. You will also be responsible for the roadmap ahead and work closely with our CEO, Head of Growth and designer to ensure that the priotizations are right. This means digging in our analytical tools to get an understanding of our user’s behaviours.
We envision you being someone who likes to be in control as well as being excited about taking initiatives. You will be surrounded by a great, ambitious and curious team that loves to listen, discuss ideas and help out in any way they can. At Yepstr collaboration is crucial. You’ll share your learnings and victories on team meetings and in smaller focus groups. This is a workplace where you have the chance to grow as a team mate and as a UX Researcher.
Responsibilities
Prioritizing and conducting user research to ensure optimal prioritization of backlog
Overall ownership of user flows, ensuring a frictionless experience
High-level prioritization of the areas with the largest opportunity for improvement (for example "customer activation"), liaising with CEO and CTO
Evaluating impact of implemented features and experiments and sharing with the team
We are looking for someone who ...
Has a background in psychology or behavioral sciences
Has previous experience from a UX-related role.
Has previous mobile app experience.
Is autonomous and a self-starter - that can create a plan for themselves and hold themselves accountable for executing it.
Likes to engage with people.
Shows optimism and spreads energy - working in a startup is a marathon so it’s important to have fun along the way!
Is fluent in English
Is a team player. We are a small growing company - we take care of each other, listen and help out. To take and give feedback is a natural part of our work.
Big plus if you have any of these...
Education within psychology, behavioral sciences, UX or an analytical field (business, engineering or similar)
Previous startup experience
Previous analyst experience
Previous product management / product owner experience (i.e. prioritizing features)
