WHAT UTOPIANS DO

The open secret is that the music industry is struggling with the very basics of music accounting: What was played, when and where? Who should get paid and how much?

Utopia Music is bridging the data gap by connecting global consumption, accurate metadata, and fast payments to an industry-wide trust platform. Our goal is to unlock creative value and enable Fair Pay For Every Play to make a better world for Music. The solutions we offer do not threaten to usurp the role of industry incumbents - it is about bringing transparency in the industry and supporting efficient royalty collection for all.



THE ROLE

In this role you will be working in a cross-functional team with the responsibility of adding a dimension of awesomeness to our product experience. Your involvement in product development will stretch all the way from the discovery phase to the product roll-out. You will be expected to actively contribute to our understanding of our customers and to turn that insight into a kick-ass customer experience.

The UX/Product Designer is part of the Design function, but operates in a dedicated cross-functional product team with it’s own clear objectives and metrics. It will be your task to represent our customers' needs and desires in the product team, and to contribute to the collective wisdom and best practice knowledge of the Design function.

RESPONSIBILITIES

You will be counted on to uncover insights so you are comfortable with applying qualitative research methodologies to learn more about our customers’ challenges and needs
Your teammates in the product team will be dependant on the insights you bring to the table, so you will need to be able to turn these into actionable improvements of the product experience
You have a holistic view of the entire customer journey, and through this you can find the most effective ways of improving the end-to-end product experience
You can visualize and create user experiences that are both effective and simultaneously emotionally satisfying




REQUIREMENTS

You are a strong team player and have experience in working in cross-functional teams. You thrive in collaborative situations and have a black belt in communication
You are self-organising in the tasks you are handling, and know when to involve colleagues and stakeholders as needed
You are not afraid to ask for help and support should you need it
You have at least 3 years of experience in a UX-/Product-/Service Designer role and a track record of excellence
You know your design tools like the back of your hand (especially Figma)
You are familiar with working with design systems and have contributed to constructing one in the past

- We are supporting work permits for employees that moved here from countries outside the EU. However, we do not support relocation at the moment. Our remote policy allows employees flexible remote work but we don't hire outside Sweden or Finland for this position.
