Become the focal point for a major step forward in global monitoring of adverse events following immunisation (AEFI).
The Uppsala Monitoring Centre (UMC) is looking for an energetic and motivated person to work to improve the reporting and analysis of adverse events related to vaccines. This is a great opportunity to contribute to strengthening global AEFI surveillance and apply your skills in a dynamic, forward-looking environment.
Experience / qualifications required
- Postgraduate training in epidemiology or public health.
- Excellent working knowledge (or minimum 5 years experience) in public health surveillance, preferably in the field of vaccines.
- Good knowledge of vaccine products and their biological characteristics.
- Excellent writing and oral communication skills in English. Knowledge of French or other UN language an asset.

The post will be based at the WHO Collaborating Centre for International Drug Monitoring (Uppsala Monitoring Centre), Uppsala, Sweden.
This position will exist from September 2008 to October 2012.
