Northvolt is now looking for Validation Engineers in the safety and environmental test group to be part of our growing team in Västerås. This is your chance to contribute to the development of the world's greenest and most sustainable Li-ion battery cell.
With your exhaustive experience in battery testing, you will play an integral role in the validation and qualification of our safe, long-lasting, high-performance battery cells. This includes taking the responsibility for project deliveries and reporting to both internal and external stakeholders. You will also work with a broad perspective from high-level prerequisites and concept development in the early phases to the later project phases managing planning, development and delivery.
Key responsibilities:
Plan, organize, direct and follow up on project-related testing activities, especially safety and environmental test mainly at the cell level
Ensure delivery of the project activities
Perform and develop tests together with the team
Design of new test methods, not limited to cell scale
Conduct certification test cooperating with accredited test institutes
Analyze and present test results
Support set up of test facilities
Help the team to perform and innovate
Facilitate communication and clarification of technical requirements between customers and Northvolt's internal stakeholders

Skills & Requirements
Education/Experience
Bachelor or above degree within Electrochemical, Material, Electrical or Mechanical field is a must
MSc or above degree within the relevant field or comparable work experience would be a plus
More than 3 years of experience from the development and testing of secondary batteries, lithium-ion based technologies would be a plus
Excellent communication skills as you will be in constant interaction with international customers and team members from both the technical and business development side
Proven results in meeting customer requirements and expectations
Recognize the risk of cell/battery development and production
Experience with Li-ion Cell Safety and Environmental testing
Knowledgeable in test design and setup
Confident in data analysis and presentation
Experience with automotive projects
Basic understanding of Li-ion battery materials, production, characterization and safety evaluation
Specific Skills/Abilities
Excellent English skills (both written and oral), Chinese, Japanese, Korean and German a big plus
Ability to work during high pressure with tight deadlines
Strong organization skills and used to manage a range of activities simultaneously
Experience from start-up environment is a plus
Ability to work well with others in a team environment, as well as independently
