The Role

As Validation Engineer you will be a part of the validation specialist function within Plasman’s engineering department. Your main tasks and responsibilities are planning, coordinating and documenting validation testing in customer specific development projects as well as lead our internal lab.

The Validation Engineer work in close cooperation with our cross-functional development teams and is therefore involved in- and supporting in all phases from quotation through development, validation and production launch. In this role, you will work in close collaboration with different stakeholders such as Project leaders, Lead Engineers, R&D Specialist and Production Technicians. You will also be the main contact to external test lab partners and suppliers. You will be responsible to organize, update and plan the work in the lab and have continuous communication with OEM customers test and validation engineers.

As Validation Engineer your main tasks will be:

- Plan, lead and coordinate the work with the realization of validation testing in the lab and support development projects towards certain Plasman OEM customers
- Create validation test plans (Design validation)
- Estimate and follow up cost, time and capacity for internal and external validation testing, including validation fixtures, test materials and transports
- Continuously communicate with customers, projects and with internal/external labs and testing partners
- Propose and develop internal verification and validation methods/processes and routines
- Lead our internal test lab with validation testing and coordination
- Lead the strategic direction for Plasman´s internal lab and equipment
- Give input and support in the strategic direction for Plasman´s R&D activities within your field of expertise


We are looking for someone who has experience from planning, coordinating and/or performing physical validation testing of thermoplastic parts and/or is willing to take on a leading position.

The position means there will be some travels, mainly to the production plants, internal and external test facilities and customers.

Education

- Bachelor degree level or higher within Mechanical Engineering, Plastic Engineering or equivalent

Experience

- At least 10 years of qualified experience from engineering and/or development within automotive industry
- Experience from lab/testing activities related to plastic components and/or painted parts. Specifically automotive products is beneficial
- Ability and experience to analyze results to technical requirements
- Experience working with technical specifications and requirements
- Experience in German OEMs is an advantage

- Fluent in English (written and oral), knowledge in Swedish or German is beneficial
