You will be part of HVDC within the Power Systems division in Ludvika. The HVDC technology has been on the market for the past 60 years and is used to transmit power over long distances at minimal loss, using overhead lines, land and sea cable systems. As Systems Engineer you will be part of a team that is responsible for the cooling systems for HVDC converters. You will see projects through, from requirements specification to the commissioning of the cooling systems on our customer sites. This means providing the basis for the designers of the cooling systems, programming of control functions and testing of the cooling systems. Your role will consist of both design and coordination work, which means that you will be the link between the different ABB departments and the suppliers within in the project needed to create a successful cooling system solution.
You have a degree in mechanical or electrical engineering. It is important that you are fluent in English, both verbal and written, while Swedish is qualifying. It is advantageous if you enjoy practical and theoretical problem solving alike. Furthermore, you combine a genuine interest in learning new technical areas with people skills and the desire to work cross-functionally. Since many of our customers are active abroad, it is important that you enjoy travelling on duty.
