Avalanche Studios is currently hiring a Vehicle/ Hard-surface to join a top-tier satellite team based in Stockholm, to work on an unannounced AAA title being developed in New York City. The team has a local Producer based in the Stockholm studio, and collaborates daily with the Art team in New York.
The Position
As a Vehicle/ Hard-surface artist at Avalanche Studios you will work in collaboration with art and other departments to visually create the vehicles, weapons and other key assets in the world. We expect you to take your art all the way from conceptual mockups through modeling and texturing to final implementation in the game. You will also be responsible for the final functionality of your assets, such as complex collision modeling, destruction and morph-target creation, and other technical setups.
Required qualifications
Excellent modeling and texturing skills using Autodesk Maya and Adobe Photoshop
A strong understanding of asset art pipelines, including normal map projection and vehicle modeling
Experience with physical based rendering
A strong reel demonstrating well-documented artistic ability
A great sense of technical know how and functional problem-solving
A strong sense for how mechanical objects are fabricated and assembled
Passion for playing and making games
Desired qualifications
3+ years of AAA experience and with at least one open-world game shipped
Experience with Zbrush
Experience with Allegorithmic Substance and Painter
Experience with Quixel Suite
Experience with Photogrammetry
Ability to communicate an artistic vision
