Polestar is blazing a new trail, dedicating ourselves to the development and refinement of electric vehicle performance. Your experience in Vehicle Cyber Security would be invaluable to us, both in concept work and when working with current designs for increased customer satisfaction.

What you’ll do
Polestars Functional Safety and Cyber Security Competence Centre are responsible for establishing and maintaining Polestar processes for Cyber Security according to ISO21434. We now need to increase our capability and are looking for a Vehicle Security Strategy Officer to strengthen our team.
Typical tasks will be:
- Establish/refine development and governance practices for secure product development
- Act as strategist for in house PKI, bug bounty and choice of technical solutions for mitigating CS threats
- Work with the CSMS boundaries and relations to ISMS ISO27001 and Factory ICSMS IEC62443
- Ensure the organisation has required competences for developing a state of the art product in regard to CS
- Guide the organisation in applying CS development processes
- Define KPI’s and requirements on tools supporting CS development
- Ensure new regulations, for instance from China are considered in future development
- Be present at industry conferences on CS related topics
- Cross-functional alignment on CS development.
Essentially, you are an expert on Cyber Security with a Polestar mindset. You will strive for achieving a secure and compliant product and you embrace collaboration to strive for the best product experience.

To be a great fit in this role, we believe you have:
- M.Sc. in Engineering or equivalent relevant education
- Deep knowledge of the TARA process, CIA, CIAD agreements
- Strong interest in cybersecurity and all potential attack vectors, including keeping up to date with latest attacks
- Expert knowledge in system and Cyber Security standards (primarily ISO 21434)
- Good experience from development of automotive safety related E/E system
- Knowledge of a wide range of attack vectors and mitigations, for example; - Social engineering attacks
- Supply chain attacks
- Hardware attacks (timing, glitching, etc)
- Software attacks (use after free, etc)
- Cybersecurity Best (and Worst) Practices - Secure boot, Secure OTA, etc.
- Cryptography
- Secure Coding Practices
- Embedded systems best practices (avoiding stack overflow, buffer overflow, privilege escalation, etc)
- Secure Hardware development (JTAG, etc.)
- System hardening techniques and procedures
- Asset identification, Risk management
