Purpose of the position
Kalmar Mobile Solutions is looking for a temporary Vendor Manager to secure total cost efficient products and solutions within the Forklift Truck division. As Vendor Manager you will primarily work as sourcing project leader to ensure coordination between Global Category Sourcing strategy and Technology Roadmap. You will coordinate sourcing activities within NPD (New Product Development) and other improvement projects. You will lead, drive and follow up on cost reduction activities. A collaborative working environment is of most importance to reach our common targets.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
New Product Development
Lead all sourcing activities related to the NPD projects
Define sourcing scope in project and create strategic sourcing plan in cooperation with global category sourcing team
Ensure early supplier involvement, selection of components and parts according to Strategic Sourcing Plan
Creation of targeted cost BOM, follow-up and assure the targets are met at each project gate
Communicate project progress within sourcing after each gate.
Control Risk & Cost for products and solutions
Responsible for product cost
Drive, support and prioritize forum for cost reduction and risk mitigation
Initiate needed cross-functional workshops to secure targets
Perform product costing and cost modeling with support from Cost Engineering
Transfer market & product knowledge into Global Category Sourcing.

You are driven, structured and result oriented and make sure activities are in line to reach our targets.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or Engineering
Proven knowledge in Project Management
Good knowledge and experience of advanced sourcing
Full understanding of cost breakdowns
Understanding of the supply chain and cost drivers
Negotiation and relationship building skills
Presentation and communication skills
Fluent in Swedish and English both in speaking and writing.
You will be part of:
As Vendor Manager you will be part of the Forklift truck division sourcing team based in Kalmar Innovation Center in Ljungby. You will be working within project teams and have close interaction with global category sourcing.
