Avalanche Studios is the leading independent game developer in Sweden employing approximately 90 persons.Our first game, Just Cause, was released in 2006 and has sold in over 1 million copies all over the world.Released in March 2010 the follow-up, Just Cause 2, has already received raving reviews.Avalanche Studios is a technology intense company where it's important that our staff is feeling great and are having fun together.Friday beer, massage in the office and sport activities are some of the things that makes it so easy to enjoy working here.Further you will work as part of a cross functional team together with some of the most talented and experienced individuals in the gaming industry.Avalanche Studios does also own Expansive Worlds who develop theHunter, the world's most realistic hunting simulator.Avalanche Studios is currently looking for a VFX Artist to work on the development of high-profile projects for PS3 and Xbox 360. The main focus and majority of time will be spent creating, implementing and optimizing particle visual effects.Examples include fire, smoke, explosion trails and sparkle bursts.The ideal candidate feels comfortable in a team environment and is able to deliver compelling special effects for an original IP.You will work with the Art Director and the Lead Artist to create visually stunning effects utilizing the Avalanche engine.This is a huge opportunity for a driven effect artist to research and evolve the Avalanche effects pipeline and to create amazing visual effects.Requirements: .2+ years of experience in the game and/or film industry .Experience from creating high-quality particle effects and textures .Experience from creating high-quality real time shading and post effects .An art portfolio showcasing high-quality, high resolution effect textures .The ability to view visual reference of an effect, deconstruct it and subsequently re-create it in a real-time game engine is essential .Strong knowledge of environmental effects, cloth simulations, lighting and dynamics .High proficiency in technical problem solving . It's to your advantage if you have any of the following: .Experience working with and knowledge of PS3 and X360 hardware .Experience creating real time effects through proprietary engines .
