Uddeholm’s production takes place mainly in Hagfors, where we have about 900 employees. Since 2007, Uddeholm has been part of the internationally listed steel group voestalpine AG, headquartered in Linz, Austria, with more than 50,000 employees.
Whom do we need?
We are now looking for a Data Engineer, experienced or at the beginning of the career, to our Digitalization department. A major focus now is on collecting data from various sources, such as machines and smart sensors, in order to visualize, analyze and optimize our processes. Hence, if you wants to be part of our digital journey, to take the next steps towards a connected and intelligent production, then it might be you that we are looking for!
What will you do?
As a Data Engineer, you will work at the interface between automation and data science, which means implementing, transforming and monitoring data pipelines from our processes to our Data Lake. This means that you will be working closely with our automation engineers and data scientist in order to enhance our processes.
Your employment will mainly include:
Data pipelining from machines and sensors to Apache Kafka
ETL pipelining in Kafka Streams, Airflow and PySpark
Surveillance and logging of data pipelines using Prometheus and Grafana
Data Warehousing using Apache Hive
Distributed systems such as Kubernetes and Apache Kafka and Spark
Virtualization techniques in Linux such as Docker and Podman
Software development in Java and/or Python
In this role, you will have weekly interactions with our international colleagues, and sometimes travels to meet with them. Moreover, you will primarily work with ongoing development activities, however, when problems occurs also assist in technical solutions within your areas of expertise. Finally, the employment is located in Hagfors with the possibility to work from our office in Karlstad or partly from home.
