Vice President Engineering, Plasman Europe, Gothenburg

This is an opportunity for the right candidate to have a position with influence and responsibility in the European HQ.

You will report to the CEO & President Plasman Europe and be an active member of the Executive Management team, with the mandate to shape and execute business plans and budgets. Your own team will be three qualified colleagues, located in Gothenburg: Advanced Engineering Manager, Product Development Manager and R&D Director. Effort and resources are being invested to develop the departments with high competence and expertise. An important focus will be to strengthen relations with customers to secure high satisfaction all the way from demands leading to innovation. Volvo Cars, Scania, Volvo Trucks and Aston Martin are all well-established customers and BMW as a new challenging customer with new products launching in 2022. You will be based at the Gothenburg office, together with the others in the European Executive Management Team.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

• Leading the team through management and mentorship
• Propose, initiate and follow up R&D projects and present to the Plasman Europe Steering Committee
• Secure lean and effective engineering development
• Contributing to recruitment activities and resource planning
• Actively promote new technologies to customers in order to increase sales opportunities
• Secure the center of excellence within Plasman Europe for New Technologies within Plastic Materials, Injection Moulding, Surface Finishing and Bonding/Assembly
• Actively work towards the Sustainability goals
• Participate in Global Cross functional work and development with Plasman North America

Qualifications & Experience competence

• Relevant theoretical education - MSc or similar
• Solid knowledge and international experience of OEM/Tier structures in the Automotive industry
• Several years of professional experience in the Plastics area, preferably from an OEM or Tier 1
• Experience and knowledge of Project Development work in the Automotive area
• Strong organizational leadership skills, with experience in leading larger engineering department in a challenging environment
• Knowledgeable about industry trends, best practices, and change management
• Solid leadership track record along with a proven history of identifying and implementing process improvements
