PURPOSE OF THE JOB
 
Develop, guide, manage and direct the central EMEA Finance (Financial Control & Projects), support, develop and manage the Sub-regional Finance Directors currently covering 34 markets. Proactively participate as a member of the senior management team in developing and delivering on the strategic direction of the business as well as in the day to day management of the Region. Drive the delivery of profitability and return on equity targets with sound business knowledge and skills, effective financial, risk & IT strategies as well as through clear alignment with the Sub-regional organisation.






KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
·                    Establish the vision and strategic direction for the Finance function, developing a world class team to meet the challenges of a growing and rapidly moving financial services business
·                    Deliver continuous development of the Financial operations across the region, maintaining sound platforms and securing continued success
·                    Determine and agree, with local and Regional management, financial/operational and commercial objectives and targets for the organization
·                    Together with the Regional President and the Executive Management Team (EMT), drive the financial performance of the Region, against the clear objectives and targets established
·                    Work as a business partner, providing information and guidance to the President and EMT, as well as in other parts of Volvo, regarding critical business activities and opportunities
·                    Develop, with the help of VFS HQ Capital Markets team and Volvo Treasury, the funding strategies, including strict adherence to funding policies and financial discipline
·                    Contribute to the enhancement of operational performance, business development and product offerings across the Region
·                    Pro-actively drive the development of the financial policies, procedures and control measures to ensure that all results and key ratios are controlled, reported in an accurate and timely manner and in accordance with Volvo’s financial policies and procedures
·                    Together with other members of the EMT, continually enhance and deliver effective controls and disciplines across each of the business functions, while at the same time maintaining the flexibility to meet our customer needs
·                    Member of the Regional Executive Credit Board (ECB)




Education:


MBA or equivalent degree/professional qualification in Accounting or Finance.




Experience:


·        At least 10 years of relevant financial experience in asset backed finance business
·        Demonstrated expertise in establishing and leading large financial organizations
·        Strong understanding of international accounting standards and implementation
·        Substantial experience in the following:
o   Improving the profitability of a portfolio
o   Analyzing and evaluating risk and major projects
o   Analyzing and recommending pricing of products and services
o   Strategizing and executing an investment portfolio
o   Managing monthly economic forecasts, annual business plans and operating expense budgets
o   Developing funding and financial management programs
o   Managing the interest rate and liquidity risk of the credit portfolio within corporate guidelines.
o   Taxation issues relevant to financial services and the heavy equipment industry on a global basis
o   Managing and implementing IT strategy across multiple markets




SKILLS


·        Extensive knowledge of financial services
·        Deep knowledge and ability to implement Volvo Financial Policies and Procedures
·        Significant experience in implementing and leveraging systems in order to drive the business forward and to develop a competitive advantage
·        Capability to develop short and long term plans for the business, setting targets and driving execution.
·        In depth knowledge of IFRS, Volvo and VFS specific Accounting standards.
·        Capability to establish and maintain a strong internal control environment.
·        Knowledge of Treasury tools and their impact on the business.
·        Knowledge of Tax regulation and implications for the business results.
·        Interpersonal skills to interact and influence at all levels internally and externally
·        Strong team leadership
·        Awareness and understanding to manage diverse and multi-cultural teams
·        Excellent spoken and written English, second language beneficial
