Vice President, Global Engineering

QlikTech was founded in Sweden in 1993 with the aim of solving critical problems for organizations of all sizes, including the largest global enterprises. QlikTech's Business Discovery platform QlikView enables users to explore huge volumes of business data quickly and easily, defining and asking their own stream of questions - on the spot, on the road, and with teams.

QlikTech is now searching for a highly qualified and experienced Vice President of Engineering, stationed at the company's Lund office. The Vice President of Engineering reports to the CTO and works closely with the Company's Global Leadership Team and Technology Leadership team. The Vice President of Engineering is responsible for the strategic vision of engineering, shaping its technical strategy, and driving its development execution. Furthermore the Vice President of Engineering is responsible of leading and continuously develop a healthy a culture of passion and innovation within R&D and Qliktech.

The key responsibilities and tasks for this role are as follows:
. Providing thought leadership around the product and how to build across the organization (product/sales and the customer/services) in a way that innovates.
.Ensure that the R&D organization is a high performing software development organization. Create a structure which sustains innovation and delivers on time and budget.
.Ensuring the right talent, locations and practices to grow and develop the R&D organization to meet the strategic needs of QlikTech.
.Evaluate R&D constantly to evolve team and engineering skills with a view to retaining and attracting the best engineering talent.
.Lead strategic planning to achieve business goals.
.Full responsibility for R&D budget.
.Accountable for continuous evaluation and identification of appropriate technology platforms for delivery of product, working closely with Product, M+A, Services and Sales teams.
.Be a strong Coach and Mentor in support of ongoing development of the engineering management leadership team. Responsible for hiring and developing a leadership team where succession is built and problems are jointly owned and discussed in relation to product development and direction.

Required qualifications:
-You have a MSc in Computer Science, or other Engineering degree and equivalent experience, which strong Computer Science fundamentals and analytical abilities.
-You have built world leading products who have gained Gartner Magic Quadrant positions (multiple patents/awards).
-You have significant career experience of overall enterprise-level development, ideally within a business application or business solution environment.
-You have extensive software engineering development and design experience with complex and highly scalable products using multiple technologies and languages, and a solid technical understanding of software.
-You have at least 15 years of working experience, preferably within the software industry and at least 10 years of experience in leading software development departments.
-You have experience from growing and establishing a healthy organization that delivers timely and with high standards.
-You have experience from leading in a truly global environment and excellent understanding of different cultures.
-You have knowledge and practical experience of modern steering approaches as Lean and Agile and proven track record of leading successful teams.
-You are fluent in English. Second language is advantageous.
